Launching HerettoOpenProjects.ai is a big moment.
Earlier this year, we began discussing how we wanted to position Heretto in the AI future of Content Operations. Broadly speaking, every vendor has the option to building in or building around.
While we continue to add AI capabilities into Heretto's core platform, we decided that our first priority was going to be to seed an ecosystem. This is for a few reasons:
First, we now have the power to do everything all at once. We believe that the counter-intuitive outcome of that is to focus more and ensure what you spend your time on is the most valuable thing. More isn't always faster and it isn't always better.
Second, AI is making software development more democratized than ever. The impact of this is a shift in how enterprise software, like Heretto, will deliver value. Some piece of enterprise content operations will need to be standardized and will be better maintained by vendors with deep expertise and investment into key areas. Other pieces will be better when built custom and tailored to an organizations needs. We believe that these custom pieces will be infinitely stronger when they can rely on the capabilities of a bedrock system of record like Heretto.
Lastly, the open source model means we can test and iterate at a pace that is unconstrained by the quality standards necessary in building proper SaaS technology. If a small component serving a specific need fails it can be updated independently by the organization deploying it and everyone can get back to work quickly.
